Who he is.
Joe Bozic runs in several different circles around the Twin Cities. He's known mostly for his sketch comedy and improvisational theater experience. Since moving to Minneapolis from Chicago in 2001, Joe made a name for himself performing with independent improv groups Fingergun and Ferrari McSpeedy. In 2003, he started working at the Brave New Workshop, the nation's oldest sketch comedy and improvisation theater. In 2006, he became a resident company member of the BNW, performing in over 20 shows during his tenure. While he's no longer on the BNW stage, Joe is still actively performing. Ferrari McSpeedy has become an audience favorite at the MN Fringe Festival (FMcS's 2013 show "Hoosiers" was the third highest-grossing show of the festival) and he has been invited to teach and play at various improv festivals in the US and in Canada.
Joe is also known by many as a teacher and trainer. From 2009 to 2014, he was the director of the Brave New Workshop Student Union, a school for improv and sketch comedy which served over 200 students every week. Through the BNW SU, Joe had the opportunity to teach classes and workshops to people of all ages, interests, and abilities. He also created the curriculum for the BNW SU's various classes and worked with many organizations to create workshops specifically designed to bring improvisation to unique populations. These days, Joe continues to teach Sketch Writing at the BNW SU and is exploring the connections between improv training and social work.
Joe is currently making a name for himself in social media. He spent a year as the social voice for a couple of large cereal-focused communities (Reese's Puffs Cereal and Hello, Cereal Lovers) before moving on to Toaster Strudel and Box Tops for Education teams. He is now working as a freelance community manager, handling everything from content creation and social strategy to community management and analytic reporting.
He also published Tin Robot in 2015.
